Gujarat tops exports index: NITI Aayog

  Gujarat  has been ranked first in the first ever  Export  Preparedness  index  2020 released by NITI Aayog on Wednesday.  It is the first of its kind  index  on the lines of ease of doing business ranking, which has ranked all the states and Union Territories on various parameters of  export  preparedness and competitiveness. Gujarat has topped the index with a strong display in various sub-pillars such as Export promotion policy, Business Environment and Infrastructure. Gujarat had also topped the ranking of the World Bank’s ease of doing business earlier.

Christchurch mosque attack: 'Wicked and inhuman' Brenton Tarrant sentenced to life without parole

  New Zealand mosque gunman Brenton Tarrant was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Thursday for the massacre of 51 Muslim worshippers last year. Judge Cameron Mander said Tarrant's crimes were so wicked that a life time in jail could not begin to atone for them. He said they had caused enormous loss and hurt and stemmed from a warped and malignant ideology.

South Korea reports highest Coronavirus cases since March

  South Korea has reported 441 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, the highest spike in the number of single-day infections since March 7. The new figure took the overall caseload in the country to 18,706 and was also a triple-digit growth for 14 straight days, according to a media report.

  Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists had asked their handlers in Pakistan to prepare videos of the Pulwama terror attack that showed mutilated bodies of Indian soldiers to motivate Kashmiri youths to join militant ranks against India. BSF apprehends 7 crossing over illegally from Bangladesh

  Seven Bangladeshis, who illegally entered India with the help of human traffickers, were apprehended from West Bengal's Nadia district on Wednesday, the Border Security Force (BSF) said. Bangladeshis, who included two women and a three-year-old child, at around 11.30 a.m. from the Gajna-Tarakpur road where they were waiting for a vehicle, the BSF said. When the BSF asked them to identify themselves and they could not produce any valid Indian identities or documents, they were detained. On preliminary questioning, they revealed that they crossed over to India on Tuesday night from an unfenced patch

US imposes visa ban on Chinese people responsible for occupation of South China Sea

  The US has imposed a visa ban on members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime, People's Liberation Army (PLA) and some state-owned businesses responsible for the occupation and militarization of the disputed South China Sea. "These individuals will now be inadmissible into the United States, and their immediate family members may be subject to these visa restrictions as well," the State Department said.

Health ministry recommends Covid-19 tests for all tuberculosis patients

  In its "Guidance note on Bi-directional TB-Covid screening and screening of TB among ILI/SARI cases" issued on Wednesday, the ministry said studies have shown that a history of active as well as latent tuberculosis is an important risk factor for the SARS-CoV-2 infection. Tuberculosis is associated with a 2.1-fold increased risk of severe Covid-19 disease, the health ministry said on Wednesday, recommending that all newly diagnosed tuberculosis patients or those currently on treatment should be tested for Covid-19 and vice versa.

NEET UG Admit Card 2020 released

  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG examination on Wednesday. Candidates who have registered for the examination can download their NEET UG Admit Card 2020 (NEET UG Admit Card 2020) from the official website ntaneet.nic.in, this examination will be conducted on September 17. India registers highest spike of 75,759 coronavirus cases, death toll over 60,000

  India reported the highest single-day spike of 75,759 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the total tally to 33,10,234. According to Health Ministry data, 1023 new deaths pushed the death toll to 60,472. Total confirmed coronavirus cases include 7,25,991 active and 25,23,771 recoveries

Can calorie restricted diet enhance the life span of humans?

 Researches from united states and china have conducted the experiment on rats,monkeys,rodents. They have observed that when they have treated these animals with calorie restricted diet it has created a anti ageing characters in these animals. “The effect of caloric restriction on extending healthspan and lifespan suggests that aging is reversible and druggable,” co-author   Guang-hui lui   a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. “We hope that we can identify the intervention target to mimic the beneficial effect of caloric restriction in the future.” Researchers pitted two groups of rats against one another: One group received 30 percent fewer calories versus the other group, who were kept on a normal diet. The researchers followed the rats over the course of nine months, from age 18 months (middle-aged for a rat) to 27 months, deliberately choosing older rats as this is when potential clinical applications would prove most effective. Supreme Court extends deadline to complete Babri Masjid demolition trial

  The Supreme Court has fixed a fresh deadline of September 30 for the CBI judge in Lucknow to complete the trial against BJP veterans L K Advani, M M Joshi and others in the 1992 Babri demolition case. A bench of Justices R F Nariman, Navin Sinha and Indira Banerjee gave further one month's time to the judge for the purpose. The court passed its order on August 19 on a request by Special CBI judge, Surendra Kumar Yadav. "Having read the report of Yadav, Special Judge, and considering that the proceedings are at the fag end, we grant one month's time, i.e., till 30th September, 2020, to complete the proceedings including delivery of judgement," the bench said. Earlier the court had fixed August 30 to finish the trial and deliver the judgement. The court had then asked the trial judge to use video conferencing for recording evidence and ensure the time frame was not breached further.
