Nearly 11000 techies quit TCS,Infosys,Wipro,HCL Tech, Tech mavhindra in Q1

India's top IT companies reported a decline in the total strength of employees in the quarter for the first time due to lesser hiring and cost cutting measures in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Headcount addition has traditionally been a strong indicator of growth of IT companies but that has been coming down due to automation.

For the april june quarter, TCS headcount went down by 4786,infosys by 3138, HCL tech by 136, wipro by 1082 and tech mahindra by 1820.In all 10962 people left these software firms during the quarter.
