COVID-19 positive patient dies as oxygen cyliner nozzle explodes at hospital A COVID-19 positive patient died at a Jharkhand hospital after the nozzle of the oxygen cylinder exploded on Friday evening. The incident was reported from Dhanbad, where the man was tested positive on Thursday. One person from the hospital staff also suffered injuries in the incident. According to hospital sources, the oxygen cylinder exploded while being replaced by untrained hospital staff. The deceased was identified as Shaym Kumar Sahu and was a resident of Jharia in Dhanbad. According to media reports, Sahu was brought to the hospital after he was diagnosed with coronavirus. The patient was put on oxygen support at the hospital after he had complained of breathing problems. 'When the oxygen cylinder got empty, he (the patient) asked to replace it. But since no trained technician was around, an untrained staffer tried to change it but the nozzle smashed out in between, killing the patient,' said a

Man receives electricity bill worth Rs 6.67 lakh

A resident of B Veerababu, Hyderabad could not, in his wildest dreams, have imagined that he would get an electricity bill worth Rs 6.67 lakh from a monthly average of about Rs 1,000. In his house in Amberpet he received an electricity bill of Rs 6.67 lakh for the last four months combined. "A few days ago, I received an electric bill of ₹6.67 lakh for my house in Amberpet. I immediately approached the electricity department office to verify my bill but they did not respond to my query. Later, I made a video, which went viral," he said. The man said that his usual electricity bills were in the range of Rs 800 to Rs 1,100. He said that for the past few months no official came to his place to note down his readings. As the video went viral, the electricity department officials visited the man and changed his meter.

Coronavirus: India records over 57,000 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours; 10.94 lakh recoveries

Union Health Ministry on Saturday said that India reported a new record surge this morning in coronavirus cases with more than 57,118 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 16,95,988. The country also witnessed 764 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The total fatalities due tothe virus now stand at 36,511. The country's coronavirus tally had crossed the 16 lakh-mark just three days after crossing the 15 lakh infections. More than 10.94 lakh patients have recovered. The recovery rate stood at 64.52 per cent this morning. It can be seen that it took 183 days for the country to cross 16 lakh coronavirus cases. Kerala had reported the country's first COVID-19 patient on January 30. 48-yr-old Real Estate Developer Shot Dead in Maharashtra's Kalyan over Business Rivalry

A 48-year-old real estate developer was allegedly shot dead by two persons over business rivalry in Kalyan town of Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Saturday. Jinesh Thakkar was gunned down by two men near a housing complex late on Friday night, the station house officer of Mahatma Phule police station said. The victim sustained four bullet wounds and died on the spot, he said, adding that business rivalry may have been a motive for the killing. A case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and relevant provisions of the Arms Act have been registered in this regard and a hunt has been launched to nab the accused, the official said.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, took to social media on Saturday and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into her brother's death case and ensure that everything is handled in a sanitised way, without manipulaiton of evidence. US makes deal for 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine

Two major drug companies will supply the U.S. government with 100 million doses of an experimental coronavirus vaccine, the Trump administration said on Friday, as the nation's top health agency predicted that fatalities would rise in the coming weeks. A man in Florida received nearly USD 4 million in loans from the paycheck protection program(PPP) and used it to buy luxury goods including a Lamborghini sports car.  David T. Hines, 29, of Miami, is charged with bank fraud, making false statements to a financial institution and engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds. He faces up to 70 years in prison. Hines applied to a bank for approximately $13.5 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans on behalf of different companies, according to a criminal complaint. Hines was approved for $3.9 million. Hines bought the Lamborghini for $318,497 within days of receiving the money, prosecutors say. Authorities seized the car and about $3.4 million when arresting Hines.
